William Wallace record book, 1808-1813 1808-1809.

The bulk of this volume contains financial records from the construction of a house or commercial building for William Wallace from 1808-1809. There are also additional records of construction for Epharas Hinsdale (1770-1810), Samuel Pennington (1765-1835), and David Beach (1780-1830) that date from 1813, so the volume was probably used by an unknown contractor rather than by William Wallace himself. Of the two types of entries in this volume, the first type detail costs of building material and labor, and the second are monthly payrolls for laborers. Among those who supplied either material or labor for these buildings were members of the Alling, Baldwin, Condit, Crane, and Nichols families.
